Bom este artigo do Mises Brasil: “Você provavelmente entende tanto de economia quanto de astrofísica”. Entendo mais de economia do que de Astrofísica. Bem, entendo algumas poucas coisas. Por exemplo, entendo que impostos muito altos são ruins para todos. Realmente, todos. Alguém pode dizer que impostos muito altos ajudam algumas classes sociais, como funcionários públicos ou os pobres (e até muita gente de classe média) beneficiados pelos serviços estatais. Não, é ruim para todos. Imposto é tomar dinheiro arrecadado pela produção de bens e serviços. Se os produtores tivessem mais dinheiro para investir, toda a sociedade, e não apenas os produtores, teriam mais bem e serviços para consumir. Inclusive funcionários públicos e os beneficiados pelos serviços estatais. Dinheiro de imposto é dinheiro tirado de quem produz e dado a quem não produz, ou pode até produzir, mas não é por isso que recebe o dinheiro, e sim por ter poder político. Pilate won't listen to Jesus; he is too busy trying to work this out himself. How can he force the Jewish authorities to accept his decision to set Jesus free? Maybe one of the local customs might do the trick. It was implemented to improve Roman-Jewish relations. At the Passover feast, the Roman governors released a prisoner the Jewish crowds requested. Normally it was a popular person who had been imprisoned for speaking against the Roman government. This time Pilate would offer the choice between Jesus and the most dangerous criminal in the prison: Barabbas. This was a stroke of genius!
